My phone rings. A guy just bought a big house in an affluent area, and found a blacksmith shop in the woods. His wife sees termites in the blacksmith shop, so she orders him to tear the shop down. He asks me if I want the contents for free before he tears the building down. I ask him how big the anvil is, to which he responds "175 pounds". Off I dash in my Tahoe, wife in tow. I get there, it is the middle of spring, and there are 400 yards of muddy hill between his house and the shop. I peer inside, only to gaze upon a 455 pound clean columbian, two champion 400 forge blowers, a huge colonial stake anvil, a firepot, two leg vises, ten pairs of tongs, and four gigantic brand new graphite crucibles, still in the box. I put the anvil on my h tiandtruck, only to see the tires sink four inches deep in the mud. My wife sees how crestfallen I am, and says "you really want that anvil, don't you"!
Lmao, she helps me move that four hundred yards up that muddy hill, turning it arse over teakettle up that long hill. This gets better. Halfway up the hill, we encounter his cesspool field, not working well, which she still helps me keep flipping that anvil. We get to the top of the hill, proud that we managed that anvil up that muddy h pill. She asks me a very pertinant question. "How are you going to get that anvil onto the tailgate of your Tahoe"? Crestfallen once again, I am just about ready to cry. She spies a forty foot aluminum ladder, and says to me "wow, check out that RAMP"!
The anvil is a keeper. The blowers are keepers. The leg vises are keepers. The stake anvil is a keeper. The crucibles are keepers. But most of all, MY WIFE IS A KEEPER
