My shop is in the now defunct Oregon Brass Works building in Portland's Central Industrial Eastside. It's about 8000 square feet, and shared with some woodworkers, metalworkers, and even a few smiths. While it kinda sucks to have to pay (not too much) for shop space, I can make noise 24/7 and don't feel a bit guilty about the fact that I bought a power hammer today.

You got some fun toys there and Grants Hammer will be a great addition... it will change how you work and quite possibly your life

Whatever you are, be a good one.

Depends on whether you're upset or happy for me? I still have to make the journey to pick it up. I'm pretty stoked! Cool

Naw, how could I be upset? Jealous for sure, but congrats! You guys' shop looks to be quite the palace! Our digs are much more modest, but you are welcome over anytime - would love to get over to see your space & see your new hammer! What did you get, exactly?

Ha! It's been the palace of chaos for the better part of two years, only recently shaping up a bit. The new hammer's arrival will be a good excuse to reorganize once again, hopefully to everyone's benefit. What I got exactly was Grant's 75# Iron Kiss and a big air compressor. I wasn't gonna brag too much about that, but I guess it's a good thing that it's staying in the NW. Eventually I'll host a hammer in... I mentioned in another thread that I tend to get ahead of myself; I know I should focus on refining my hand skills and taking classes, but I'm already scheming about a big hydraulic press! Maybe if I buy Larry enough beer.........
