The small anvil was given to my by a friend who found it digging in her garden, it appears to have been made from a piece of crane track. I cleaned it up and drilled two holes in the top.

The 2" X 2" X4" piece of wrought iron, upset a bit on the top was made from wrought iron sash weights from a old hotel in Seattle, Mike Linn, NWBA member had salveged them and sold them at a NWBA conference years ago. The wrought is crummy and the bench block is the onlly thing I made from the two weights I bought.

The Antler handle folder is the first one I made, it took a year or so, mainly cause I didn't know what I was doing, would get frustrated and shelve it for months than have another go at it.

This website is really taking off, congrats Grant. This is better than a printed Hot Iron News, color images, instant publication, cheap, and, and, and, I forget, time to take my pills.

transform a yellow spot into the sun.” ~ Pablo Picasso ~

The "Show and Tell" aspect of this site and the info sharing have really made it fun to log on!!
Beautiful Knife. I need to spend a day with someone and get a "handle on handles".... I'm having a hard time just trying to put a simple handle on a simple knife!!!!!!

Ya wish I could find a brand new 450 lb nimba buried in my yard somewhere 😀 Eric dont feel bad, I am in the same boat, though I am more working on shaping and getting the steel to go and move to where I want it to go before I start making handles. have a bowie sitting on my anvil atm I have to get a tang worked into then back to forming. One step at a time man.

This is a thread from British Blade forums.

Simple and ingenus.

I prefer a semi flat grind all the way to the spine of the blade.
