I was at one of my customers today and I had to have them turn a forging on a lathe while I waited. So I was talking to the machinist and he mentioned that he had worked at a shop that built forging presses, hammers, and steam hammers. Since he had an English accent I asked if it was Massey, turns out it was. He worked for them back in the 70s. I told him what hammer I had and he told me he had turned lots of parts for those hammers, as well as parts for lots of hammers up to 40cwt.
John N he said to say hi next time I was talking to you. Bill mentioned Masseys was probably the best place he had worked .
