I am working on building up my selection of tools and such but at this point dont have the means, or at least the experience to make what I need. Mostly want to start with like a hardy fuller and a hardy cut-off, maybe a bottom round swage, things like that. I think what appears the best source so far may be blacksmithsdepot but  not sure what to expect on quality or if there is a better source. Please let me know if any of you know a good place to get things like this or if you have dealt with blacksmiths depot before.

thanks!

Hi Dreygan,

Seems like I bought a book or something similar from them before (pretty sure I didn't buy any tools as I prefer to make my own). I've not heard anything bad about any of the online blacksmith supply places. You wouldn't be the Dreygan (or I think that's the right name) that was helping out during the blacksmithing demo's myself and Dean Farmer did at Champoeg park are you?

Nope that wasn't me, I haven't been around long so have only gone to 2 of the demos in Longview plus Mark Aspery's.  Really hoping I can go to more going forward cause I kinda feel like I'm floundering a bit trying to learn on my own, but doing what I can to make it work. I appreciate the feedback on the shops. At some point I hope to be able to make my own tools but not sure if I'd make anything usable at this point.

Thanks again :)

You're welcome,

I think I saw Vancouver as your location. You could go by the Fort Vancouver blacksmith shop also. Most if not all of us are willing to explain if not show how to do things. There is also the option of volunteering and working your way through the apprentice program. Company just walked in so got to go. Have a good night,

Rashelle
