I assume we'll eventually get a clubhouse demo or a conference hands-on out of you after?

I'm always happy to share what I learn. I'll make sure and give a full report of how things go, and I'd be happy to demo once I learn the skills.

In the meantime, Alec Steele will be demoing at the Spring conference, and he's spent a good deal of time working with Brian. I would be very surprised if he doesn't demo hammer making or working with a striker in general. I know I'm really looking forward to seeing what he has to offer. I'm glad that it'll only be a couple weeks between the conference and when I go see Brian, as I'm sure seeing Alec do his demos is going to whet my appetite even more.

oops....sorry
now i put it in the right post.....lol

and yes, very nicely done with the hammer, people are far too quick to judge a hammer till they have to make one. and of couse the best route to making alot of things nicely and consistantly, is to make the tools to make the tool or item.

Blacksmith?.....snap out of it!

Needless to say, I'm excited!

Needless to say, I'm jealous. (How much would I have to pitch in to the cost of the class to order a 4-5# rounding hammer???:unsure::confused:)

Well, let's wait until I learn to make them properly and am confident in making something of a quality worth buying before I start considering selling them. It's certainly a possibility later on, but let's not put the cart before the horse. 🙂

Update:

I just got back from spending a week with Brian and Ed Brazeal. Needless to say, my second hammer that I made under their tutelage turned out better than the first attempt I did alone:

I'll post more pics and details later, but here's a teaser:

Tracy,
Nice job on the hammer. I forged a hammer a while back and am in no hurry to do another one. Altho, I use it more than any other. I have decieded to make a cutlers hammer next. Just need to get over a bad case of the lazies. I can see why Brian wants $200.00 for one.:ninja:
