hello my name is mike blair,though some know me as oz.the question i have is why does nobodie make adzes anymore? i just made one,and it was a learning expeariance.i've been forging for serious since last january.i forge welded the o1 blade on the mild bodie,which is something i havent done before(the lap weld i mean)and it worked like a dream.Gary Lewis tought me how to forge weld about two months after i bought his old anvil.thanx gary!any ways.after i did the lap weld i tried to make the eye socket.that was'nt so easy.i went to the book "colonial ironwork in the southwest" and there i found the fix to my problem.(i'll post pics as soon as i can)the reason i ask is that if you make something like that,someone will buy it,probably before its finished.people want those old tools.anyway,just food for thought,and i would like and appreciate your thoughts.thanx ozz.
