I thought I would post a picture of this fun little project. These hammers are used by a Japanese artist named Momoko Sanderson. Momoko let me play with making a set of these for an upcoming class she is leading. These hammers are used I understand to lift a small piece of gold leaf and imbed it into bamboo. These little hammers have a long bamboo handle and it kind of whips into the work. These are made from 3/8 O1

Yes they are very small about 1cm x 2cm. Once you get the hang of them its a fun one heat project. The steps are punch the eye, forge the peen from one side and cut the stock. Then a quick run on the sander and then I harden the hole bunch.....
