Does anyone have or know where to get track pins unused in small quantity?

Good Morning,
Ask at your local equipment/farm, supplier/repair shop, Track pins are used to hold the pads/track together on a crawler tractor. Fining, John Deere, International, Case, Hyundai, etc. Maybe someone with an excavator has changed some track?

Thanks for the interest. 1 1/4'' x ? would be cool. '. I believe 1 1/2'' is the norm for these track pins from what I've seen and that's what I use for the outboard pins in the bulldoze bender I made.I'm thinking about doing a production model and on the original the bull pin is 2'' which is way larger than I want to stay with and the outboard (which are 1 1/2'' track pins) could be smaller too, so 1 1/4'' all round seems like the ticket. Track pins are ready made and very stout but maybe it would be better to buy say w2 (which is very reasonable) and use something like that.
This sort of hair brained BS keeps me off the streets........:nerd:

Rather than W2 you might want to go with 4140 pre hard, which has been heat treated not to be hard but tough. If you want the ground finish on the outside you can get 4140 heat treated ground shafting. It is not cheap but probably cheaper than new track pins and you can cut it to exactly the length you want. For less money you can get the same thing in 1045 but not quite as tough.
How many tons are you using? I would be inclined to stay with the thicker pins. My press which is just less than 40 ton has 65mm and 50mm pins and they flex when I am using them. The newer version of my press uses all 80mm pins. The Jd squared press which is just under 20 ton uses 2" and 3" pins. The more the pins flex the more likely the work is going to get spit out the top. If you are selling these you need to be concerned about someone standing in the wrong place if one ever lets go.

One thing I want to accomplish is to narrow the space between the closest pins (empty) and squeeze in a third set that's wider than the widest pair.........The 1 1/4 bull pin mounted in the ctr bushed to fit a 2'' hole is 1 1/4'' and I have no idea what it is ut it has held up no problem over the years and it takes double the strain the other two take. The bullpin receiver is 2'' max as it is. I know the tonnage is over 10 but may be as high as 15, there's no tag on the pump so I'll need to mount a guage to see that......The only machines I've seen that do this cost over $6000 and I'm certain I can beat the crap out of that........It's just a pipe dream for now.......:cloud9:

Hmmm, I'm confused as well, guess I was on the down side of the caffeine curve....Let's see....the 1 1/4'' bull pin is bushed to fit a 2'' dia., bore...More better?........
This press will only be used for bending, curving 3/4 x 1 1/2'' is what it was it was built for and hot bending would at least dbl that. I've never had any pieces wriggle out of it unless I was trying a double variable bend, nothing much happened but if you were trying to hold it in your hand............could be a bad day.....
