The Aurora Colony Historical Society is devoted to inspiring and educating the public of a variety of historical topics. We are currently searching for someone to come to our site in the town of Aurora, Oregon and demonstrate...perhaps even teach...the skill of blacksmithing.
Ideally this request is for someone who is interested in coming to the museum complex regularly and use a combination of our equipment and theirs. Our historic building is located out in the courtyard and has a small forge and bellows. We also have an anvil and some other hand tools.
August 10, 2019 is our Aurora Colony Days and we would be so excited to have you come this day from 10am to 4pm to demonstrate as we are open for free to the public this day and the courtyard is abuzz with many demonstrations and projects-especially for the children.
Please contact us at the Old Aurora Colony if you are interested in this opportunity to inspire the next generation!
