Opened the car door, after going to town, looked down, spotted this. Took a digital photo, Photoshopped it. Not hot iron, but liked the way it turned out.
I had a darkroom in the basement, two enlargers, one a 5 X 7 Kodak, a real monster, many cameras. When digital photography came along, sold it all, enlargers, cameras and equipment.

The rebuild reminds me of a story, Subase Bangor, one of the maintenance mechanics was rebuilding a machine tool gear assembly. and had all the parts in a box, one of the other machinists added a gear to the parts. Took that mechanic about a week to figure out that part wasn't needed. Everyone in the maintenance shop knew about it except the mechanic working on the gear assembly. :):):)

I wouldn't notice, I always have a few bolts left over!

Having sent 15+yrs shooting adv photog full time...still have 4x5/8x10 complete darkroom etc in storage, I can appreciate where you are coming from. My daughter has a BFA from OR State and seems to be following in the footsteps of my past. Didn't encourage/discourage her. Tough way to make a living today..my assessment..but technology has changed radically beyond my film/computer expertise. Kids today have a feel/vision for things that I could never have . We truly are anachronisms in the purist sense of the word. Somehow though, as an old man in blacksmithing, it feels good.

Is that Tom Graham, Terry Carson, Gene Chapman, Mark Soloman, Phillip Baldwin, Dorothy Steigler, Russel Jaqua and Corkey Storer? And. . .who's that other happy fella? Is that Berkely Tack?
This was Damascus Workshop I, correct? I'm sorry I missed it. I always smile when I think of Damascus Workshop II, however.
