Hello all. I was trying not to procrastinate this afternoon, and as my forge was warming up, after about 10-15 minutes, my lines and fititngs were freezing up. I run off a 100# tank and it was just filled. It was 49 degrees and raining, if the weather matters. This has never happened to me and I'm not smart enough to figure it out.
Help?
as always
peace and love

Good Morning,
100# tank just filled and now the lines and fittings are freezing up?? Turn the bottle off, let it thaw/warm up, take a dish soap spritzer and spray the fittings, turn the bottle on and fix the leak.
If the bottle was freezing up because of the draw from the forge, the bottle would be frozen at liquid level. If this is the case, connect two tanks in parallel, the draw from each tank would be half. The surface area of the liquid would also be double.
Automobile propane tanks are on their side, so there is more surface area to draw the gas from.
Buy the book on Propane Forges, it explains it all.
Propane requires respect and patience, NOT FEAR!!!!
Good Luck,
Neil
