I built a forge many years ago with a tuyere like this. Rather phallic looking thing. I had a 2" hole in the bottom of my forge and made a piece like this from 2-1/2" round with a 7/8" hole, just dropped it in. Mine was about 1-1/2" tall. Worked fantastic! Clinker would just form a doughnut around it. Takes a little deeper fire, but it doesn't spread out on ya. WAY better than any "grate" type.

I like the high dome like the second one.

Grant when I click on the link there are only a couple of small snippets available. How do you get pages of information like you show there?

Somebody else try the link and report back here, please, it works fine for me. They are PDF files, so maybe you didn't wait long enough?

I did some looking on the google site and it may be because I am not in the US. They are not sure that the books are in the public domain based on our copyright laws. That explains why I got the same thing when I went to other google books that you posted on Iforgeiron .
This is strange as our copyright laws are similar or even sometimes less strict.

Wonder how they do that and why? I can download them, load them on my server and post them.

Could someone who can read these books please post the ISBN numbers of them. I am trying to send Google a note about these books on their feedback page but it asks for the ISBN #s of the books and I cannot find them on the page that is visible to me. Thanks. Can anyone else who is in Canada read these?

I can't seem to find the ISBN. Copyright is 1910..sooo I'm not even sure they were tracked like that then. Sorry.

BTW, shows up fine in Google Chrome.

Mmmmm.... you spend a lot of time looking at a prison watch tower that looks phallic do ya?

I find this a much more picturesque landscape...
