I am building a new propane forge body with 2" of ceramic blanket and plan on coating it with a layer of refractory. I have used Satinite before as a coating and it worked fine but this time I was going to use one of the products that I can get locally at High Temp Inc in Portland. They carry Kast-O-Lite and Super 32 refractory cement. When I called High Temp the guy on the phone didn't think the Kast O lite would be a good product to use as a coating even though I have read on forums of people using it. So that is a little confusing to me. He also said he thought he remembered selling Super 32 cement to the NWBA for use on their forges.
