I just got word of this site from Grant. He saw a post of mine on IforgeIron and invited me to the NWBA get together in Stevenson, WA. I hope to make it!

I've only been 'blacksmithing'/'bladesmithing' for little more than a year but I've managed to set up a functional little shop. Most of my tools I've made and have acquired a few more - a couple of anvils (purchased), couple of homemade anvils (RR tracK), couple of homemade propane forges, a homemade 20 ton 'mini-press' and a couple of coal/coke/charcoal forges, a ton of coal, and a few hand tools.

Things I've made other than the forges and press - woodworking chisels, fixed blade hunting knives, hot-cut hardy, bending hardy, steak turner, BBQ hot dog holders, striker for flint, a cable damascus billet (eventually will become a knife).

Basically I'm learning on the simple stuff (except for the knives - not simple :p), but would like to learn a lot more. To date most of what I've learned has been via the Internet. I have visited several local bladesmiths and took copious notes. And I always enjoy the demos at the fair.

I'm on the 'Eastside' (of King County, WA) and am always up for a lesson in blacksmithing/bladesmithing.

Studio 4 has many classes scheduled, check em out.
