First I wanted to say thanks for such a great forum.

I've been lurking for just over a year, trying to learn as much as possible. I've been watching videos, reading books, and trying to gain a foundation before jumping into the fire 🙂

I just got an inexpensive propane forge about a month ago, and have a small 15lb ASO my wife got me for Christmas. My first project was making some tongs. I've spent quite a bit of time learning the fire and figuring out what I need to progress. It's apparent an anvil is first on the list! Regardless, I'm underway. Once I get some better tongs pounded out and a better surface to bang on, I'm going to make some priests (fish bonkers) for me and my fishing buddies.

I'm looking forward to what is obviously going to be a lifetime of learning.

Nice effort on the tongs, Jarrod. My shop is at 840 Cloverdale Road, in Kalama, and I'm usually there from 9 to 4, Monday - Friday. Stop by if you would like.

Hey I started with a 6" piece of RR steel so your miles ahead of me. Welcome!:wavespin:

Mike--thanks a ton for the invite. My day job keeps me busy during the week, but you may see me on a day off! It's nice to know there's local talent. At the least I hope to attend the Spring Conference this year.
