I have been active on a couple of knife forums for the past couple of years, Knife Dogs and Bladesmith's Forum. I had been missing a good blacksmithing forum.
One of the guys on Knife Dogs posted a thread about the Ribbon Burner Forge that he is building and has a link to here.
I followed his link and found a bunch of old friends here.
This looks like a well run forum with lots of good information that is serving the blacksmithing community well. I expect to spend a lot of time here now.

Hey Mike, I assume you are talking about the Southern Blacksmith Conference (http://www.sbaconference.com) in Madison, Georgia the third weekend in May.
I will be there with gas forge supplies (Larry Zoeller won't be there because he is teaching a weekend workshop at Campbell Folk School on building gas forges) and will have my Moe's Grinders both belt and disk to show and take orders for Grinders, motors and VFDs.
I was at Batson's Blade Symposium and sold all the tools I had for sale. I will be checking out my shop to see if I have anything else I need to move.
Big Bob will be there with some wrought iron bars from an old jail. He said that he would be sitting up next to me.
You all come by and visit. I will get there Wednesday, Thursday is designated as tail gate sale day, of course folks will be selling all through the conference.

I plan on building a John Emmerling design ribbon burner for my existing forge that needs a better performing burner, but have a few questions on other parts, such as the orifice, and squirrel cage blowers. Can anyone share in the orifice design please? I have numerous squirrel cage blowers, is the supply air regulated be a blade valve? What is the recommended psi? I know the local propane supplier was like way alarmed at what I was thinking, saying no appliance is ever allowed to go over 5 psi per local codes. I'm not in an industrial or commercial setting. The forge is constructed of 10" pipe 16" long with kao wool and TC 100 coating over. Anyway am needing some information help with these and any suggestions would be appreciated.
