Hello, Blacksmiths.

I'm Tom from Maple Valley. New to the forums and new to blacksmithing. It's something I'm interested in and want to find out more about.

So far I've acquired a couple books and had a tour of a friend of a friends shop. Who knows where it will go from here.

May all your burns be 1st degree.

Welcome aboard, Tom.
There is a ton of info here at all levels and lots of pics to drool over and scratch your head.
Enjoy!

Dave

Hope you can make it to the conference Tom, it'll knock your sox off! Only 1st degree burns huh? I don't know what to call most of the ones I get. When ya work bare hand your skin gets real thick. I get burns that fry the skin but never hurt at all. Then there's other burns I get that are first or even second and I don't notice them till I get in the hot shower. "Where the heck did I get that"?

Back when I used to frame houses the calluses were so thick that my wife used to tease me about having asbestos hands. I bet those would come in handy now.
