Hey Justin...

As a small shop owner I can tell you you probably wont be able to land a gig with a blacksmith until your 18 for insurance reasons.... The insurance industry is kind of nit picky about working around heavy machinery...

But what you should to is take a few classes with Dave Lisch or out at Meridian forge and start practicing your skills.... If your able to do basic things the chance of getting hired on as a apprentice with go up big time..

And welcome... If you can get to the conferences you should come... take a class in making 'hawks while your there and meet a few people....

Whatever you are, be a good one.

Justin,
We have a small blacksmith shop located between Poulsbo and Kingston. I'm not prepared to take on an apprentice, however you are welcome to come by for a visit. What is your forging experiance?
