While looking for parts to build a simple tumbler together with parts I already have laying around, I stumbled across this, what appeared to be what I was attempting to build with a five gallon bucket, a washing machine motor and some way to rotate the whole thing. Sitting there on the shelf at the local recycled and repurposed items store was what is shown in the picture. It works very well. I tried various sizes of steel punchings which are a bit heavy. But settled on ceramic pieces the size of dimes to quarters of various thicknesses. I paid $15 and it worked. It is a Kol Mixal: http://www.mixall.com/. One hour does the trick. See attached.

No one really listens to anyone else, and if you try it for a while you'll see why.
