Hi folks,

I just wanted to get a little bit of info out into the open about the Repousse' Station for this confrence. Since all the other hands on classes are being run on the "if you bring your own set up you can take all the classes" kind of platform we're going to do the best we can to keep this part of hands on activities as open to people as we can.

These workshops will be taking place in the parking lot located next to the Huckleberry Inn right in the heart of town. We will have enough tools for 8 workstations and be providing two structured lessons given by Andy Blakney and Lisa Geertsen. Lisa will teach the class that runs Friday afternoon from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Andy will teach the class that runs Saturday morning 9:00am - 12 noon.

The classes will be a first come first serve sign up format. There will be a list with 8 available spots and a list for alternates. If you sign up for the class on either list, you need to be present 10 minutes before the class is scheduled to start. If you are not present by 5 minutes prior to class start time your space will be given to an alternate on the list.

The repousse’ station will be open to use during the hours that classes are not in session, and will also be first come first serve, but without a sign up list. There will also be a limit of 2 free pieces of copper per student, we wouldn’t want to run out of copper on the mountain! But if you have your own, feel free to use it. We ask that if you are working at the repousse’ table for more than four hours and you see that others are waiting to use a station, that you respectfully give up your spot for someone new. We expect to have an extremely large turnout for this conference and we want to give as many people an opportunity to play as we can. On this same note, we ask that if you were able to make it into a structured workshop class, that you only sign up once so that others may have a chance to learn.

For the folks who don’t make it into the structured classes, you are more than welcome to hang around and listen to the lesson, ask questions and observe. We are hoping to have a third volunteer to be available while classes are not in session to help and answer questions as well.

Since there will be no midnight madness at this event, the repousse’ station will close for dinner on Friday from 4:30 - 6:30, but will stay open for a few hours Friday evening according to interest, but no later than 9pm. It will not be open Saturday night since we’ll all be enjoying ourselves at the banquet and auction.

OK folks, lets have a great time! And if there are any questions feel free to ask Andy, myself, or Scott Szloch.

Well Craig, do you think we would ever NOT have midnight madness? Yes there will be open forges after hours. Look forward to seeing you there.

I don't see midnight madness on the schedule.
Do we have a open forge area?

Well, I guess (technically) there will not be "midnight" madness. There will, however, be "after-hours crazyness" until 10 or 10:30.

After-hours craziness just does not have the same ring as midnight madness!

But it will do.

thanks

I think it has to do with the fact we are set up right in town... We are basically taking over Govy and so pounding on stuff till the wee hours of the morning would be a bit rude to our hosts... They are excited to have us and stated we could make noise... But you know... We want to go back someday with warm and fuzzy feelings for everyone..

Whatever you are, be a good one.

Thanks Larry and Grant for answering Craig's question about Midnight Madness. It is quite a shame that we aren't officially allowed to carry on as usual, but yes, other folks actually live in this town and as Larry said, we would like to be invited back.

Noise ordinaces and all, I'm sure we'll all be so overloaded with so much cool stuff happening that our usual late night forging sessions won't be missed!

Well, take consolation in knowing that there are numerous watering holes close by to retire to after "evening insanity".
