In spanish they are "Martillo Pilon".
This one is from a railroad shop in Argentina around the turn of the last century. Probably made in Argentina, not imported.

Needless to say, I want one.

Yeah, that is so cool, a real work of art, thanks for that one Ries. They probably put him in the picture because he was on the inside bucking the rivets when they assembled that thing!:banghead:

transform a yellow spot into the sun.” ~ Pablo Picasso ~

Here is a video of an abandoned train repair facility in Northern Argentina- they have a similar riveted arch hammer, and coincidentally, they appear to have one of those Belgian Demoor hammers as well.

I havent made it up to this part of the country yet, but its on my list, and I would guess this facility is still there, rows of power hammers still standing idle.
There is a small museum in one of the buildings, with little stuff in it, and so I dont think the big stuff is going to be scrapped anytime soon.

Ries,

I have a 175kg Demoor and it doesn't look like the hammer in the vid as the valving is different. Mine was built in 1972, but other than the oiler and some minor changes, the hammer seems to be pretty much unchanged from the 20's. Could be wrong though...
Jake James also has a Demoor.
