Its 15hp power supply is put together and the frame work of the press is done. Plumbing is pretty much all thats left..

The main beam is 18" I made the lower die so it could be put just about anyplace on the beam..... I have a few stiffners to weld in yet but other than that its pretty much ready to go to work...

Whatever you are, be a good one.

Nice beast you've got there! That should be some good tonnage. I like the way you can adjust the lower plate depending on the height needed. Great job!

Clean build. How Many Tons are you going to be able to develop, and how many gpm is your pump? I've been building a two station press with a 36 ton side and a +- 80 ton side and had to add an accumulator to keep ram speed up with a smaller (11gpm) axial piston pump. Still have a lot to figure out, but I like the direction that you went.

Looks good Larry. Have you done the math on the bolts on the bottom die? I know you have a lot of them but they look light to me compared to the rest of the press. Maybe you could use hardened dowels in some of those holes as their stronger and you would not have to tighten as many bolts. Or maybe you could run a row of heavy dowel holes down the center where it is heavier because of the web.

Larry, looks like the perfect compliment to your big press. You can get in tight and have some serious concentrated power in a small area. What kind of ram speed are you shooting for on this one?
