Greetings,  Looking for info on power hammer for a part time blacksmith.  Mainly to be used to draw out ( maximum 1" mild steel).  Space is limited for the hammer: 32-36" wide, app 36 - 40" deep and at least 8' ceiling height.  220 voltage or 110 is available and a 5 HP 80 gal 2 Stage (app 125 psi) is also available.  I have a treadle hammer for smaller work.  Appreciate info on any type of hammer.    Mic

Hi, Mic,

You might want to research the "Clay Spencer Tire Hammer" and/or the "KA75 Power Hammer." Both will fit the space you describe.

The Spencer is a D.I.Y., plans available from Clay Spencer (a former engineer turned blacksmith). Depending on your ability to scrounge, parts for the Spencer will run one or two thousand USD. Build time will depend on your mechanical ability and access to lathe & milling machine & welder.

The KA75 runs five grand or so (USD) with shipping, and also needs a 5HP compressor, purchased separately if you don't already have one.

The Spencer is a dandy little machine if one does not expect too much. The KA75 hits harder than the Spencer.

Both of these are also QUIET when not actually thumping. No incessant annoying huff-huff in the background.

No matter where you go... there you are.

Thanks Lee.   I will look into both products.  I appreciate your immediate response and look forward to the many benefits of the NWBA.   Mic
