It works real good. I have emailed the maker of the press to get a new nut to have on hand for when it goes, it is quite loose.
Here is a piece of 1 3/4" steel I needed upset for a lock on some hardware I am making. It was about an inch longer and three blows it is just right. Not sure how much it shortened it. What I like though it is pushed straight down without hanging onto it like under the hammer. It never moved after each blow. Very nice addition to my arsenal.
