Hello,
I'm shipping a 100# LG power hammer from the mid west to BC on a semi. I planning on building a timber pallet 48"w x 68"L and plan on bolting the power hammer to the pallet, then strapping the hammer to the load rails of the tractor trailer. Does anyone have experience in shipping a similar hammer (3400lbs).
In addition I am planning lifting it using a 5000lb forklift with metal pipe/timber in the upper "C" of the frame. Has anyone tried lifting this kind of hammer form the base pallet?
Finally, I am planning on moving my shop soon so I dont want to dig a pad for it but am thinking to leave it on the pallet with a rubber mat between the wood and the hammer and the wood and the floor. Has anyone had success using the hammer in this way without destroying the concrete slab floor?
Thanks in advance.
E.G.
