I couldn't help but notice when I visited Larry Langdon's shop last month in Seattle that his shop dog was heavily into fetching bits of steel, like chunks of 1/4 x 2'' x 3'' long. If allowed over time it can lead to the, although novel, serious condition shown.......nip this behavior in the bud! Attached thumbnail(s)

Just turn him loose in the neighborhood and see what he brings back!

Just in case you need someone to carry a bigger anvil:

Record size for a mastiff = 343 pounds!

What? No cutting torch?

Seems like a bunch of lard should do the job.

Yeah, if you could get it applied before the dog licked it off. 😀

Nope, it was on pretty tight. Here's the story...
He went missing that morning, I called from the shop after I noticed him gone for a while...then called up and down the driveway...
then called out the trail...called all around the shop...
worked in the shop, wondering wtf was up with him taking off, till tim showed up...
Tim looked down the hill by the shop, and said "there he is"
He was standing about 40 feet down below the junk pile, with his head down, I thought he had it in a stump, digging at something.
Little fuck had his head stuck in a brake drum. It wouldnt come off, so we carried him (me with rocky, tim carried the brake drum) back to the shop. It wasnt coming off, and his neck was getting swollen.
Off to the vet, they had never seen anything quite like it.
They put him out, and soaped up his head, but it still wasnt going to come off. We really tried too.
SO, I called Ken over at the muffler shop, to see if he had an idea. He sent over a disk grinder with a cutoff wheel in it, and we wheeled rocky out back on a gurney and covered him in wet towels so I could cut the damn thing off his neck. Just cut between 3 lug holes, then cut that piece out for a big enough opening to get his head through. He must have been after a lizard, and really shoved his head through that hole.
The swelling went down in a day, he's still a little raw behind the ears tho.

Poor doggy, but you gotta admit, he committed to gettin' the lizard. 😀

So, is he a boxer?

Regards,
Tim

I gotta admit, when I first saw this post, that the photos were staged!! I mean how can a dog get his head thru this brake drum and then cannot get it out??!!?? However, I think that if he was REALLY after something, he may jam his head thru a mouse hole!! Damn and blast!!! Not only a vet bill, but a ruined brake drum!!:stomp:
