Hello, my name is Jared Valenta and I'm an archaeologists trying to ID an artifact found at a mine entrance in the Cascades of Washington State that was developed ca.1880s-1930s. I'm not sure if this is a blacksmithing tool or something else entirely but I was wondering if someone in your organization might be able to ID what it is and/or what it was used for. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and consideration.

The top part above the eye certainly looks like it had been used for striking on. The bottom part has those four parts, which make me think it might have been used for crushing something. Perhaps it was used for crushing ores/rocks into smaller pieces.

Just having some fun messing around with whatever I have a mind to do.
