At Boy Scout Camp last year we used the coal from Central Fuel in Chehalis. It's cheap, but pretty dirty. Lots of smoke on startup, and it formed a lot of clinker quickly. Still, it worked for our purposes, and we go through a lot of it. We went through about 500 lbs a week in coal.
If a group buy is in the works, please email me. The camp needs to purchase our coal for the season, and if we can find better coal and/or a better price we'll want to do so, most likely we'd be in for at least a couple of tons.
