While waiting for the gathering in Stephenson next weekend, my sons & I have delved into weaving chain links since we do not have a forge yet. We've only a small supply of the 12g SWG (10 AWG) rings we need and before ordering from a place like:

If you are interested in making your own rings I can show you how I made a simple tool to coil and cut the rings. Let me know if you are still interested and we can meet at the conference, it will only take a few minutes.

Used to turn 16 gauge steel by hand myself till someone showed me using a drill works faster 🙂 Like mr wilson said if ya need help just ask... Chainmail is interesting to say the least just beware of the claw hands from working on it to long at once.

Yes please. We'll find you there. I'll be the big guy with 6 kids (3 teenage girls, 2 eleven yr old boys, and a 9 yr old girl) we'll have a 10 yr old light brown suburban, with tarp & tent. We will arrive first half of the day on Friday and leave by Saturday dinner. If we can buy one of the tools from you and be shown how to use it, that'd be great!
