I need a chunk of heavy plate for a machine base, 2-1/2-3-1/2 thick minimum 4' x 8'. *Can be rusty or full of holes but needs to be flat. *A new chunk of 3" is about $1900 I'm hoping to find something for half that or less. *Anyone know of anything? Old heavy table maybe?

Whatever you are, be a good one.

Hey Larry, pretty sure I have a 5' x 17' chunk of 2" under a bunch of other crap... I'd sell it for $.50/lb...

You might also check out Interwest Metals in Fife, I was just down there and they have several ... platen? or is it Platten? table tops just laying around on the ground there, you might inquire about those. Not sure what they are charging for them, Also, I don't know the exact size of them either.
