I have never worked at any hammer bigger than a 600lb steam hammer that was ran on air.
Having that much daylight to work with and all that power would be nice to have a try at.
Costs a bunch of money to run those hammers . I am guessing they both ran on air as a steam plant would cost even more to run and maintain.
The shop I work for has some very large hammers but these are all die forging hammers.
They run from little 1500 lb hammers upto 25,000 lb hammers.
Been in several shops where they were running some big C frame and H frame hammers.
These shops were forging shafting and mandrel rings for the most part.
