Cannons? I thought they used boarding pikes and just rammed into each other back then.

Suggest you look at http://www.omega.com/prodinfo/.....llers.html for sold state controllers and switches. Tiny, rugged, and reliable plus not too expensive. They have 3 modes; bam-bam, proportional, and "PID", meaning they learn the characteristics of your furnace and anticipate needs for heat and mininmize thermal swings over and under the set point. Like VFD's for motor control, the price keeps dropping.

Just "won" this kiln controller of a ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayI.....K:MEWNX:IT

It's got controlled ramp ups and down. If it works it should be real useful for annealing H13. Hoping to be able to forge it, anneal it, machine it then heat treat it by the book. Don't really know too much about metallurgy, does this sound do-able?

I found a phone number for Cambridge Process Controls, 01223 361617. Maybe they can get you a schematic.

Larry, did you ever find a controller? Here’s one http://www.auberins.com/index......b92ac85d14 or 9 that is, reasonably priced and lots of features. You should be able to find what you want. How’s this project coming along?
